Dawn Raids | Stories

LI: To use our own knowledge to write what we know about the Polynesian Panthers

The activity was named Dawn raids and this is my first activity for the Stories category. Our two response choices were to create something about what we know about this part in Aoteroas history our second choice was to create an apology to the Polynesian Panthers from the perspective of the goverment/prime minister. I choes the first option and chose to write about the dawn raids becuase I think that it is important to adress what had happened during the dawn raids and how many lives of Polynesian familes and comunites were affected during these devastating times.

I enjoyed this task becuase I this is a topic that I know about and also becuase it is important to speak up about what happened during this part in Aotaroas history.

Good as Gold | Places

LI: To leave a review on the short film "Good as Gold"

The name of this activiy is named Good as Gold the two responses that we were given were to create an ad for it, a DLO, and or review for the video the second response that was there was to create a story board for a short film you would like to film one day. I chose do work on the first response by writing a review for the video good as gold. In the DLO it has my review and rating adn the video is aslo there if you would be interested in watching the short film. while creating these responses we were allowed to work colaborativly with other stuedents who would also give as some feed back if we needed it.

I really enjoyed this activity becuase I enjoyed watching the short film and it was interesting to see what would happen during the video.

Child of the Ocean | Places

LI: To undertsand what it means to be a "Child of the Ocean" In this document it shares my opinion on what the phrae child of the ocean means to me the task I decided to work on was named Our ocean. the two responses that we were able to chose from where create a DLO advertising  the Pacific. and out second choice was to write what it means to us to be a child of the ocean. while responding to these responses we were also challenged to expirment creating our DLOs by making them multimodal meaning it can be accsed by people who struggle with certain disabilites. This is my second response for the responses in the places category once we would complete three responses than we would be emailed a digital badge.

I really enjoyed this activity becuase it made me think alot about what the phrase means to me and how I am a child of the ocean.

Slam Poetry & Spoken Word | Places

LI: To create our own Slame poetry, Spoken word performace I see me is a website that is being developed and  is targeted for young pacifica youth do find there roots ti have a strong understanding of their own culture and other pasifc cultures. There are four different categories Places, Objects, Stories, and Futures. within these different categories we have many different responses that we are able to chose from 1 - 2 different responses we would also be given different recourse to help us gather information such as videos, websites, stories, and more. All of the responses are linked to Polynesian cultures which help us connect to our Pacifc cultures. the response I chose to respond to was a respone from the places category the name of the response was Slame poetry & Spoken word.

The response tasked us to create our own slam poetry, spoke word performance. Slam poetry is a form of performance poetry that combines the elements of performance, writing, competition, and audience participation for my slam poetry I decided to use the word peace becuase I thought that  it would be a  good topic to write slame poetry about.

I enjoyed this activity becuase I found it interesting tolearn about slam poetry and understand how it works.
