Today I commented on Liletina's blog post it was about how she was building longer sentences and i gave her feed back of what she should do better in her Blurb.

Gymnastics

LI: to develop body movement of balance, rotation, and strength.

the stretches that we did are:

  1. L shape
  2. seal
  3. butterfly
  4. cat
  5. strowble
  6. side support
We did three rotations that had different equipment and activity's.

Rotation 1
The first thing we did on rotation 1 was when we had to do a forwards role on the bench and then stand up and next thing was where we did a small or big cart wheel over the box. the third thing is the bean where we have to walk back ward and keep our balance the coach said when you are walking back wards look at your feet and use your feet to tell when you are nearly at the end of the beam.

Rotation 2
The first thing we did in rotation 2 was where we did a back wards role we had to have your hands behind your neck and look at your stomach and also keep your knees close to our body so we could role down. the next thing that was in the rotation was where we had to a scorpion hand stand that is when we try and use one leg and try to raise it as high as we can. next up was the spring board where we ran and try to jump as high as we can and then do a half turn when we land. the last thing in that rotation is where we ran and we jumped on a trampoline and we landed on our feet but in a star fish shape.

Rotation 3
on the last rotation we did a hand stand with your feet against the wall and we had to raise one of our legs as high as possible. next up was bench we had to put our legs on a box and we had to hold ourself up by using our hands and we had to rotate as well.

Ta'ovala

LI: To build vocabulary
LI: To skim and scan
LI: To make connections

We are reading a book about a Tongan piece of clothing called a. Ta'ovala we read about this in a book called Just like new and it even says that people of tonga wear a Ta'ovala to special events and it is also disrespectful to not wear a Ta'ovala to a special event. you can wear a Ta'ovala to Funerals and Birthdays. Nowadays Women from tonga make more modern Ta'ovala called Kiekie and they use materials from the pandanus tree.

Synthesis DLO

Making Connections DLO

Table Mat Slide Deck

Kiwi Can

LI: To use trust and reliability.

We are learning how to trust people. the activity we did was a trust fall where one person had to fall and the other person had to catch them. so we had to trust the person behind us so that they can catch us when we fall. we also did another trust activity it was where you both had to hold hands and and lean back you had to trust them so that you can not fall.

SSR Selfie

LI: to summarise and retell a text.

This book talks about science and forces that are around us and it also has some interesting fact about forces and science. In the book it also says that a force can pull you down towards the earth and gravity can do that as well.

Numerator & Denominator

LI: Share Equally into groups using our times tables.

In this DLO it explains what the Numerator and the Denominator are and it also shows how this connects or links up with our times tables. so if we have a fraction for example 1/2 and we have the number 24. We then put divide the number and we have to find out how much is in each pile so if it's.

12 then it is 1/2 of 24 is 12 and if  we have a times table then it would be 2 x 12 = 24 because we have 2 groups with 12 inside equally and the hole amount of sticks we have is 24.

One of the call and return tunes was ''I like Chocolate Cake'' , ''so do I''  Johnny teaches a message to children that message was that together we can make a change.

Johnny's lesson was very interesting because I have learnt about this before and I also learnt some new things as well something new that I learnt were the new rhythms on the drums and I learnt four of them and I really enjoyed it because I was doing something that I have done before and I was doing it again it was very fun.

LI: SHare equally into groups using our times tables.

We are learning how to write a fact and how to also use times tables and division we also had to explain how this links or relates to fractions. this slide deck explain one times tables for example 5 x 4 = 20 so that just means there are 5 groups that have four things inside equally.

and then we also had to explain division it were you share things out evenly.

Synthesis and Gathering Information

LI: To Build Up Vocabulary
LI: To Skim And Scan
 LI: And To Make Connections

We are learning how to activate our prior knowledge we did this by looking at a book and then trying to find out what we already know about the subject of the book the book we got was about white water rafting and we had to write things down of what we think we know about white water rafting.

We then used some facts about the book and used some keywords and we also had to define the keywords. we also had to ask some questions about the book like is this sport dangerous or is this sport popular. we then did a synthesis activity we had to fill in the prior knowledge box and then we also had to write down the new information that we have learnt but this is still a WIP Work In Progres.

Hiwi the Kiwi Fishing for the future

LI: To be responsabile in the sea and when fishing.

Hiwi the Kiwi  came the Panmure Bridge we learnt from him today legal fish size this means we have to make sure that if we catch a small fish then it could be a baby fish and means you have to put it back and if it was a big fish then it could be a fish that can breed or have babies.

After that he taught us about life jackets and why they are important to wear you need to wear them so if you drown it keeps you floating and not sinking and drowning. And he also told us a story of a man who was not wearing a life jacket and he drowned.

He also told us about plastic in the sea if we leave plastic or rubbish in the sea then birds who fly over the sea might think they are fish. and might eat it and the plastic could get stuck in there throat. He told us a story of a all black bird the was washed up the sea dead and some people cut opened it's stomach and found a bottle cap of a bottle in side.

He Talked to us about when you are picking up fish Hiwi said that if you use your hands some of it's scales will come of and if you do that and then throw it in the water the fish could die that's why you have to use a wet cloth cause this does not affect the fish and the fish does not die.

And last was have salt ice he said that if you catch a fish then you should put it into some salt ice it's just ice mixed with some salt and this stops the fish from going bad.

we also listened to the Minstrel play songs and tell us stories about how we can keep the fish and ocean safe we also did some challenges and he also asked us some questions about the sea.

Cyber Smart/attribution/Giving credit

LI: To give credit and attribute images
Attribution is when you give credit to someones work like a photo We have all learnt as a class what copyright and what fair use is we have to give credit to the owner you can buy the piece of work if it is necessary. Fair use is getting permission to use that piece of work and you can use the owners work but only some of it.

How we attribute:

  1. find the photo you wants
  2. make a link that goes to where you found the image
  3. after that you them make a link that links to the owner profile
  4. then you make a link that goes to you licence for the image

Kiwi Can

Today for kiwi can we learnt that we can make promises and go through that and stick with the promise. then we played 21 by looking at each other so if someone looked at me then I have to say the next number and the have to at a another person then they will say the next number and look at somebody else.

then we had to write things down that we could achieve like helping around in your home and we also had to write how we can do that we can do that by doing chores.

Catch Phrase: kiwi can says reasonable is what I am and that's the way of kiwi can.

Maori/Nga Whetu
