The legend of rahi

LI: to visualize the legend of Rahi from what we hear.
Today this week we had to visualize the story of rahi and we had to draw what we think what was happening in the story and we also had to answer the the question down below and then we had to blog and explain what we did and take a photo of our piece of paper that we used to draw our pictures.

Catapults


LI: to make and share our presentations abut catapults
Today we had to chose a topic and we had to talk about catapults and we had to make a presentation about three different things about catapults.
 
Catapults were often used for taking down walls and sometimes used to throw thing over to enemy base but they were mostly used for breaking walls of bases.

Maths area


LI: to calculate the area of composite shapes.
Today we learnt how to workout the area of composite shapes that means different shapes that make more different shapes we had to use a highlighter and we had to use it so that we can draw a rectangle.

we had to use times tables and addition but we could only use the 3,and 4 times tables so we had to make sure that we had a width and height that was in that 3 and 4 times tables.

Swimming

LI: to learn how to pencil dive 
Today we learnt how to pencil dive but first we had to wear a life jacket and we had to hold our nose and block our mouth and then we just had to walk on the water and then we fall and then we had to come back up and the we practice floating on our back and our tummy's and we had to also learn how to swim one our backs and tummy and the fastest way of swimming is on our backs.

Kiwi can

LI: problem solving.
Today for kiwi can it was our last week for problem solving so when we got into kiwi can we had to sit down and talk about what we learnt last week and then we went into our energizer the aim of this game is to try and get past hall the hoops and into team number two hoop and each team had to try and get into the other teams hoop and if we meet the other team member then we had to play rock,paper,scissors and the loser has to get to the back of the line.


and then we played matt doge ball we all got numbered one to four and we had to to make a big circle and we had to remember our number so that when he calls all of the people who were number one they have to go in the middle and we had to roll the ball and if the people in the circle touch the ball they are out of the game.

sunsets structure










Today for inquiry we had to do some art and it was kind of like pop art we had to first look for a cityscape and we had to make a city the looked like the one that we were looking at and then when we did that we had to look at sunset images and we had to think of what colors we are going to use hot a\or cold colors i used hot colors witch were red,orange,yellow and we also printed out or city's that we made and we needed to cut it out and then we had to plan a background for our city to go on and once we did that we could blog about it.

key boarding

For daily 6 we have to do 6 task they are: Basic facts, keyboarding, pixel art, hand writing, basic fact plus and minus and SSR selfie. The one that i am doing is keyboarding. This is a very good way to learn how to write properly. This is also a good way to use all of your fingers to type

Tables conga

This week for my can do slot I did tables conga, for this game you have to collect the numbers of the times table that you choose. You also have to avoid the x's that follow a programmed pattern to try and catch you.Today I did some table conga and That is a math game that you can do to learn Multiplication and when you complete it then you get an award that is a trophy and then you can practice the rest of your multiplications.The key was to get all of the numbers that comes after 2 like 2 4 6 8 10.Like counting in 2's

Hill forts

LI: to make and share our presentations abut hill forts.
Today we had to chooses to talk about and make a presentation about three different things like a rampart and a hill fort and a trench.
 
a hill fort is a village of fort protecting something and were usually surrounded by mounds of dirt of soil and that could use that to there advantages to make trenches or ramparts if a different tribe attacked them.

Reading Assessment on Raz kids

Today this week we are leaning about question but we had to go on raz kids and raz kids is about you get high to the next level  and we could do activity and we had to find are spot  to re-could but the main thing we had to do was that we had to read the story and then we have to re could it and our  teacher has to listen to is that it could make sentience and that it has the problem and the setting and and when we fished doing that we had to to talk about what happen in the story and well we are record it when we fished we have to press next and then it takes me to questing and we had to get the answer that belong to the questing and when we fished doing that we have to press done and then it say the we get 300 stars  that is for reading.There was lost of people that did it and same people didn't finish doing the test and we could also blog about what we did for reading.

Swimming

LI: To learn how to rescue someone.
Today we learnt how to rescue someone we had to find a partner and then once we found a partner we got a pool noodle.

and then once they told us what to do with it we had to lie on our stomachs and we had to pull in our partner that is in the pool and then we had to pull them in with the pool noddle and once we pulled them in. and then we had to get into the pool  and we had to try and penetrated that we are setting on a chair and we had to make circles with our legs and then we had to put one hand up and say the word help as loud as we can.

Narrative [ writing ]

LI: to write a narrative use descriptive words to make our stories more exiting.
Today for writing we had to write a Narrative my Narrative was about a clown called smiley i will write some paragraphs about smiley.


When smileys had a hard day he always drives down the mountain and once he’s at the bottom he puts on a performance to make family,friends, and others laugh and every time he puts on a show he always wears his rainbow jumpsuit and he wears bright,colorful, face paint and his hair is red and really curly. His hardest magic trick was to ride a unicycle and to a magic card trick. And then when the performance is all over he usually goes and drives backup to the mountain and as a rest and then he has dinner.


When he has dinner we eats the plants that grow next to his house like Golden currant, Mountain sorrel, and pine needles and it's really quiet where he lives so smiley puts on some music when he’s eating dinner. And sometimes when he was nothing to do he goes hiking to a find a peak were he can stand on and fell the fresh air going past his face. Sometimes smiley can be clumsy and also really funny sometimes.


And one time when smiley was a kid he had a balloon it was his favorite color witch was blue once he saw a group of kids playing together and smiley went over to them and he wanted to show his balloon to everyone. And when he did two twin brothers were jealous of his balloon and then when all the kids left the two twin brothers went up to smiley and stole the balloon and after that the twins found a good hiding spot where they could play with the balloon but when they saw smiley they both hid it in a tree and then it started to get dark and smiley scared them of and finally smiley could find his balloon and after when smiley found it he started to live on that mountain and that's how smiley wanted to live on a mountain.

And these are three paragraphs about smiley that clown and this is part of my story [ writing ].

Area [ Maths }


LI: to Calculate the area of shapes using multiplication & addition.


Today for maths we learnt of to calculate the area of shapes using multiplication & addition what we needed to do this was our netbooks and our maths book a pencil and a ruler so what we had to do was to go on our netbooks and find a google draw that had lots of different sized shapes for us to find out that area of all that shapes.

All the measurements were already there so we just had to find out that area so all the lengths and widths were already there so we just had to find that area of all the shapes and once we did that we could blog our work and make a DLO explaining what we did for maths.

Kiwi Can [ Problem solving ]


LI: to Learn how to solve problems with friends and to get better at communication.
Today for Kiwi Can our new topic today is problem solving and to day our lesson was about communication and so that we can talk to more people and make more friends. 

Then after that walked us through the lesson we went straight into to energizer and it was called human knot that aim of this game is to work as a team and listening  to there ideas and talking to our group members so what we had to do was to split up into two different groups and then once we got into groups we had to make a circle with our group and then we had to hold one persons hand that is across us and then once we were holding two different hands we had to untangle all of our hands.

With out letting go of there hands and the first group to finish and untangle all of the hand with out letting go and getting back into that circle wins that game.

Today we had a trip to that sky tower and we learnt a lot about it and it was made because to help with communication and other things and then we had an activity to do we had a sheet of paper and we had to name that places that were on the paper.

Today for Writing we learnt how to write a piece of descriptive writing. first we had to go on our slides that we made about the setting and character and we had to write six things about our character and setting and then we had to writing a sentence about our setting and character and then after that we had to write story using figurative language like metaphor, simile,personification,and then we could write the descriptive writing.

Reading Laws and violations ( questioning )


LI: to choose a topic and write Questions,answers and how got those answers.
Today for reading we had to choose a topic we did't now much about my topic was about the laws in NZ had to write questions for our topic and answers and how we got those answers.










Swimming

Today this Thursday we learnt about how to save some one if there on a beach or a pool first they told us about were we can swim on a beach they said that there are flags on the beach and they also told us that if we see  a flat piece of water then that means it is a currant and we have to be careful because then it will pull us into the open sea.

and then after they told us all about that we all split into our groups and in my group we all did some practice on some sculling and floating on our backs and then when we finished we went into the other pool that was close to the one that we were in so when we got into that pool we all made a whirl pool and then when we made it we all quickly floated on our backs and when we did that we could fell that currants of the whirl pool and when we where floating we where sniping around.

and then w went into that pool that we were first and we just had to swim the the platform and then swim back so that we could get out side.


Measuring using times tables and addition Maths


LI: To measure area using Times tables and Addition
Today for Maths we learnt how to measure area with times tables and addition we all got a piece of paper that had lots of weird shapes and we had to measure all of them and some of them looked really hard to measure and what we had to do was get a ruler and we had to split it into multiple shapes that we could measure and if we measured the height and the length and if we get 2cm and 3cm then we have to do 2x3=  then we write 6 cm squared.

And then when we finished all of that we are able to blog it and we can make this DLO poster explaining everything that we learnt in maths today.

Inquiry Maps,bridges


LI: to make a map of different types of bridges we have learnt about so far.
Today for inquiry we learnt how to make a google map and find and research new types of bridges and then we have to make a  map of where those different types of bridges that we have never seen before but we could copy and paste some info about bridges that we did last week.

Cybersmart Word cloud

LI: to identify the purpose of the information presented in media.
In Cyber Smart we were all learning about media means just like we were doing last term. We all got into little groups and watched video such as a movie trailer, advertisement and a news site. We had to do a word cloud about our blog, our own blogs that we have all made. We also wrote words that describe our blog like as in I am brainy

Inquiry This vs that Bridges


LI: to Learn about different.
Today for inquiry we had to learn about different types of bridges and we had to do a comparison of three different bridges we had to to a comparison between the panmure bridge and the Auckland harbor bridge and then we had to choose one new Zealand bridge and then we had to choose one international bridge that means that we have to choose a famous bridge in the world. 

Writing planing setting


LI: to plan a setting.
Toady this week for writing we learnt about planing a setting first we had to figure out when what is it like and where the setting is and when that characters will be in the setting and we also had to talk about where the setting is and when the characters will be in that setting.

and we also had to talk about what the characters can touch,smell,see,taste,and hear. we also had some ideas from this template that had things that could be in our setting

Swimming Lessons

This weeks new swimming lessons we learnt how to float on our backs and Sculling at the same time sculling means that we float on our backs and we have to use our hands to portend to use our hands a flippers when we float on our backs that means we can swim on our backs much more easier and calmer. and then we had more practice trying to float on our backs but most of us already new how to float so then we just jumped right into sculling.

We had more practice swimming with our hands in front and kicking with a board but i already new how to do that so then our teacher Kelly told us to make sure that we kick our feet under the water so then we can swim much faster but if we kick our legs and feet above that water then that means we are just kicking air and we are not swimming fast enough and we are just making big splash's that is why we kick under the water and not above.

And at the end our teacher Kelly told us that we could swim to the platform how ever we want to we could float on our backs and do sculling, we could just do regular swimming with a board we could even just try float on our stomachs and kick to the platform and then we all made it to that plat form and we got out of that pool and then we got changed back into our school uniforms and then head back to that bus and then back to school and then we can blog about our day at the pools.

Kiwi Can

LI: to achieve our goals
Today this week for kiwi can we learnt how to achieve our goals and the kiwi can leaders Miss Lily, Mr Matt and Mr lahtu they told us what our theme is it resilience and the topic is setting goals and we have to achieve our own goals as well and then we had a energizer so the point of the game was to there is one hoop and in that hoop a person stands that means the kiwi can leaders have to stand in the hoop and they were holding to pool noodles and we had to get from one side to another without them tagging us with the pool noodle and the other kiwi can leaders Miss Lily told us how we had to get to the other side.

Maths Measuring using times table


LI: to measure using times table.
Today for maths we learnt how to we then had to look the measurements that were on the paper and if it said 2 cm and 4 cm then we have to write the time table 2 times 4 and then write the answer and next to that we wrote cm squared and then we could blog our work [ maths ].

Reading ( Questioning )














LI: to try and understand that difference between different types of questions.
This week for reading we go t two pieces of paper and one of the pieces had different types of questions and that other one had that place for the different types of questions and were they have to go we had to cut out all of the questions and we had to stick them on that right square using glue and we also had to write a small description about why we think these questions go here and all the questions were based on a book that we read it was called the little yellow digger and once we have finished all of that we could blog our work about what we did.

Planning


LI; to make an character giving it and appearance and personality.
Today for writing i learnt how write about a character and giving it and appearance and personality we had to come up with an idea on with our head then we came up with a clown then we had to do a slide show on we had to write about what the character was about. and we also had to write there experiences they mean what they wear and how they behave  and what they do. 

Measuring area


LI: To measure that amount of area.
for mathes today we learnt how to measure the amount of area of rectangles on a piece of paper and we had to measure the area  with unit squares and we had to make a DLO about what we measured the rectangles  with and how we did it.

The Panmure bridge (inquiry)


LI: How have the changed and adapted to human need over time.
Today for inquiry we all learnt information about the Panmure bridge. We also learnt what structures there were built before this as in destroying the Panmure bridge and rebuilding it. We also had to research what years the bridge had to be rebuilt to carry what it carries now which is cars

Swimming

LI to learn how to float backwards and forwards.
Today we learned how to float on our backs and and on our stomach we had a test swim to see how we were doing in your swimming and to see if we can still swim and we also learnt how to go under water and grab one of the toys that was at the bottom of the pool.
