Commenting

LI: to write a quality comment.


Today for Cyber-Smart we learnt how to write a comment with a greeting like hi hello and a compliment such as I really like your work, your blog post looks really interesting. We also had to make a connections with the authors blog post like I have learnt and done this kind of work before, this blurb has taught me a lot about what you have been learning.


We also had to write a helpful comment such as I think that  you should write in paragraphs, I think that you should give a more descriptive blurb. That will also help the reader to understand the blog post and at the end we could write an encouraging sentence that will encourage the author to write more blog posts.

The Grinch

LI: To understand conflict and resolution in a fiction text.
LI: To understand plot summary.

This week for Reading we had to do the plot diagram and the conflict. For the plot diagram we had to write what happened in the story. And the first one I did it was the exposition and for the exposition you had to write what was the settings and who were the character after I done that I did the rising action and the rising action is when the problem nearly gets bigger after i done that i did the climax and the climax is when the problem is very big after I done that i did the falling actions and the falling actions is when the problem is getting fix after I done that I did the resolution and for the resolution is when the story finished after i did my plot diagram i had to do the conflict after i finished the conflict I had to blog it and then put it in the LS1 must do.

today for SSR Selfie i had to write about a book that i read the book is called the bad guys it is about four bad  criminales and they just want to be super heros and help people out by being good and by doing good deeds they all try to be good in there own way but first they need to figure out a way to try and be super heros

Maori

Today we had our Maori lesson. We got handed 2 pieces of paper and we had to label it. The labels where food they were panana,Tomato,Aporo,Oaniaporo,Inu aporo,kanga,tihi,tohi,ika,hei,hei,retihi,hua whenua,paraoa,poaka,poua,taupoki,hanawhiti. These lables are food. We labled them on our 2 piece of paper and then we had to color it however we want.

Peace


LI: to Explain what is peace.
Today for inquiry i had to get into my group that i worked with on Tuesday and i had to explain what is peace all about i had to look at some images that are on the slide and i had to describe what we could see in the image and then we had to write sentence with the words the we choose after that we had to make posters that explain what peace is and then we had to put them on a slide with all of the photos that we had to describe.

10 Words


LI: to find 10 words and find 5 meaning of one of the 10 words.
Today for reading i had to read a book it was called do not push and i had to do a task that is based on the book so what i had to do was i had to find 10 words that are in the book and i don't understand them and then i had to go and find out about what one of the 10 words mean i had to find 5 words that i don't know and i had to find the meaning of the word as well.

Kiwi Sport

LI: To Learn how to counter attack.
Today for kiwi sport we learnt how to counter attack with Pacs who is our coach she was teaching us what we remembered from last week and we had to get into partners and one person had to have to boxing gloves on and the other person had to hold the noodle so that we can coach our partners that are wearing the gloves and we learnt how to slip and we also had to remember the position that we always have to use when using a combo punch or counter attacking and then we had to swap over with our partners and we had to wear the gloves and wee had to slip and get into rock position.

Today for Kiwi Can we had a energizer and we had to get one person to satand in the middle and we had to get into one of the four corners and then person had to choose one of the coroners and we had to be quite so that the person in the middle can not pick the corner that i am in.

Exchange

Today for maths we had to learn how to exchange money to make our stack of money thin and he had to make videos of how to exchange 1 dollar notes to exchange for a 10 dollar note but we had to give him 10 1 dollar notes and then we could exchange all of our 1 dollar notes until we had all 10 dollar notes and then he had to do the same thing and but we had to exchange 10 dollar notes for 100 dollar notes.

Plot Diagram

For writing we had to learn about Plot diagram. First Mr. O read a book to us and the book was about Lorax after he read the book to us we had to write what was the expropriation after i done that i had to write about  the rising action and the rising action is when something is getting a problem after i done that i had to write the climax and the climax is when the problem get bigger after i done that i had to write about the falling action and the falling action is when the problem is getting solve after i done that i had write about the resolution and the resolution is when the problem end after i finished my writing i had to blog it and then put it in the LS1 must do.

Trench warfare

LI: To explain the event in World war one. 
This week we were learning about Trenches. So our task was to talk about the parts of the trench warfare. So we first started by talking about it to our teacher then we got back into our partners and then we had to watch videos and read stuff off websites once we did that we had to write more information on our text boxes we also had to talk about sickness and how it happened in trenchers. Once we talked about the parts in a trench we had to find a image the we could use and we had to write who it was taken by.

LI: to learn about the different defense.

Today for Kiwi sort we had to learn how to block punches but first we had to get into partners and we had to but on some boxing gloves and we had to learn how to go under punches and and we have to learn how to block hits and first we had to put the gloves on and then we had to move from side to side to block our partners punches.

Kiwi Can

LI: To learn how to respect our community.
This week for kiwi can we were talking about respecting our community we first talked about the places in our community and how we can respect our community in different ways. We also talked about making our community a safe environment. We also talked about the things that make our community a bad environment.

Our enigiser for the day was called Tunnel ball. We had to get into a circle and we had to get a ball and that ball will be in the middle of the circle. We have to try get the ball in between the other persons leg but make sure the ball does not come through your leg. We had to use one hand to hit the ball. and Fua  and Charlize were the two winners. 

Our activity was called hand soccer.  We had to get into 2 even groups that had 11 people in each, there were 2 goals. We all had to number ourselves 1 to 11. Mr M

att will pick an amount of numbers. For example he says 3 numbers and the 3 numbers are 6, 7 and 8. So whoever is that number goes to the middle and try to hit the ball in the other teams goal but you need to use 1 hand only.

How to tell the time

LI: to tell the time on an analogue clock.

Today for maths i had to learnt how to tell the time and we had to learn how to tell the different times and then after that we had to make a poster about how to tell the time and then we had to use this website called clock face generator and i had to choose a random time and then i had to make a poster that explains how to tell the random time that i picked and then i could blog about what u learnt today.

Maori Vegetables

LI: to learn about different foods and the the Maori name for it.

Today for Maori i had to get a partner and i had to find different foods and then i had to find the Maori word for that food and then we had to make a poster that explains about the different foods that we had to reaserch about and then we could blog about every thing that we learnt about.

LI: To mount our final results of our quatrefoils. this week we learnt about Max gimlett style of art and we had to try and make our own mounted art we had to make a piece of art the uses pain and pastel and colored pencils and for all of arts we had to have a meaning behind the art the meaning behind the my max gimblett style is it represents my favorite subject in school it is maths that is why it has a division sign and for my armistice themed art was to represent all of the soldiers and women who helped injured solider and the soldiers who died in world war 1 and 2 and my Christmas themed art is based on snow flakes and Santa and a Christmas tree and then we could blog our work and write about what we did.

Kiwi Sport Boxing

LI: To learn how respect others while throwing our punches, Learning to not get discipline while not doing the right thing and also Showing safety to our pairs,teacher and the people around us.



Today for kiwi sports LS1 is learning how to box we had to make line and go up the the hall where Pacs was she is our coach  first she told us the 3 commandments of boxing number 1 respect we have to respect our coach and the equipment that we use during boxing 2 rule is discipline and 3rd was safety we all had to follow these 3 commandments at all boxing sessions.

we had to remember what we learnt last week witch was to move around in our rock pose and we also learnt new types of punches but first we had to learn how to move around in our rock pose first we had to get into our rock position and if we wanted to move forward then we would have to jump forward with foot that is at the back and then we also then had to put our foot that is in front of us forward as well and then we learnt how to move backwards as well.

if we wanted to move backwards then we have to use our foot that is in the front of us to jump back and then we had to also move our foot that s at the back of us to move it backwards while still int the rock potion. After that we learnt some new punches as well the first one that we learnt is called the hook we had to get into our rock pose and we had to use our right hand to punch from the side and then we learnt the uper cut punch we had to also use our right hand to punch from the bottom and then make our way up.

today we had to learn about Dr. Seuss and we had to find out hi real name his place of birth and some of the books that he has published and also the very first book he published and we had to find a lot of information about Dr. Seuss i also had to write down some of the characteristics the he uses in his books and after i have completed my work i could then blog about what i learnt today.

LI: to have respect for yourself and your community

Today for Kiwi Can we had to remember what our theme and topic was our theme was respect and our topic was respect for our community first we had our energizer the game was called remote the aim of this game was to listen carefully to Mr. Matt and if he says fast forward then we have to walk very fast and if he says rewind then we have to walk backwards and if he says pause then we have to stop and then jump once.

Today for Moari we had to remember what we did last week last week we learnt about the legend of paikea it was about a man who was drowned and then a whale came to save him and we had to make a poster about the paikea legend  and we could also put links in the link to the paikea song and the paikea haka.

Manaiakalaini Film Festival

Today we went to the manaiakalanai film festival inside of the cinemas .We saw alot of schools videos that were for the manaiakalani film festival . the schools that me and my class saw were Tamaki Primary , St Patricks , Tamaki College , My school which is Panmure bridge and also stonefields school . My favourite video was my schools video and it was called a bit dicey . It was made to be a bad parody. If you see this video you will see how bad the parody is .The people inside of this manaiakalani video are Alayah , Kaitlyn , Fau , Victoria and thats all . But the teachers inside of this video are Mr Ogilvie , Mr Wong and Mr Johnston all of the people inside of this video are at Panmure Bridge School and The name of our movie \ video is called a bit dicey.

Max Gimblett



This week we have learnt about Max Gimblett. We got into partners or a group. My partner was Charlize and we had to finish this task. We had to find the key facts about him and that was where he was born,when he was born,where his art has been displayed, he did something interesting in 2015 and 2016.

After we were finished that we moved onto the other slide. On slide 4 we had to find the definition of a quatrefoil. The definition of a quatrefoil is a flower or a four leaf clover. Then we had to answer: Why dose max use this design quatrefoil? Then we had to find 6 photos of quatrefoils and attribute them.

Then we moved on the art of remembrance. This was the last slide we had to do. On this slide we had to find the who,what,when,where, and how. Who was involved? What happend? When was the quatrefoil made? Where was the church? How did they hang it up?

Armistice Remembrance


LI: To show what different events in WW1.

Today we had to get into different partners and we had to watch different videos and we had to write information about what the fallen is it is a poem and of remembrance and we also learnt about that last post In army traditions the bugle call is what signifies the end of the day's activities and is played at military funerals and acts of remembrance. The poem was created by Robert Grave.

and also For Armistice day we had to make a copy of this slide and find information about the poppy, last post and the the fallen ode. The videos are about what the topic is on the slide. We had learnt and searched on google What is the last post.

Today i did SSR Selfie i had to read a book for 15 minutes and i had to make a slide that retells about the story that i read this book was about a boy named Arthur and his mean sister named Morgan and there Mum. It’s Arthur and Morgans First  day at there new school, Arthur is very nervous about going to his new school because he has a lot of questions about his new school.

text Structures

LI: Recap on structure and language features of written texts.
On Thursday afternoon Mr Ogilvie's writing group used the recount they did on Monday for our test to show what the word tree impact on our writing. So we first started by sitting on the floor and listen to what our teacher says he told us to use the writing that we wrote on Monday and explain what's the great stuff that you put in the recount he also said that words like after, later and next have to be highlighted in blue and your great vocab has to be in green and lastly your punctuation has to be in red.


Next after he sent us off to do our work, When I was doing my work I started by explaining how I know that the title is a title and others. Then I started to high lighting the words in blue after I finished that I then used green highlighter to highlight my great vocab after that I was on my finale task and that was to highlight my punctuation's in red.

After that I re checked my my work to see if I was right but there was a few mistakes and I fixed Them and also if you didn't know what Tree stands for it stands for tittle,Reveal,Events and ending. When I finished I felt refiled that I mange to complete my task.

Today for reading i had to make a news paper description about
the book that i have been reading it is called Do Not Push i had to write about what i read about in to first chapter and the second chapter and i also had to put images in it as well i had to write tree different stories and i had to talk about all the events that happened in the book i had to write stories from ever chapter of the book that i read as well.


WW1 weapons and battles of world WW1























LI: To learn about the causes, conflict, and resolution to World War 1 (WWI).

Today for inquiry we had to learn about the weapons that they used in the air in the sea and on land in WW1 and we to at least find 3 weapons that were used in the air, sea and, the land and we also had to find images of the weapons as well so that it would be easier to visualize in our heads. and on the second slide we had to make a small time line that had questions in those different years.

We also had to answer the question that was provided in the different box and we had to answer with a correct answer we could use different websites that are linked on the slide to find information and help us find a correct answer.

Maori Te Huarere


Today for maori we learnt about the weathers. Ms. Whaea Ode read us a book about the weathers. We had to search up different places  Mt. Everest, Wanaka, Lake Wakatipu, and Tairawhiti. After that we had to make a slide show about the weathers. We had to write down sentences on our slide that link to the weathers. And for the photos we had to find photos of a raining Auckland, sunny Auckland and cloudy Auckland. and i also worked with charlize to complete this task

Exchange animatons



LI: to replace bundles of objects with an object representing a certain amount.

Today for maths we had to make three animations about exchange we had to make three animations about a different numbers the number that i choose do an animation about are 10 15 and 24 i had to use different objects to make the animation in my animation about the number 10 i used ten one dollar coins and then and the end i turned it into a 10 dollar note.

for my other animations i did different foods and i also used different numbers as well in my animation about the number 15 i did water melon and then i turned it into one hole water melon. and in the animation about the  number 24 i did cans of spaghetti and then i turned it into one hole plate of spaghetti.
