Tasman Bush Fire/Poster/Map/Evaluating/Summarising/

LI: To understand a local event trough reading.

Today for reading we learnt about the tasman fires in NZ we had a slide that had who, what, when, where, and why we had to look for information and we had to write information about who was involved of this event what happened in the event when it happened and where and why it happened we had to then find 20 important words that relate to this event. And we also had to chose 6 words from the 20 that we wrote and then we had to make a sentence with those 6 words.

After that we had to make a poster that had information about the tasman fires we had to write about who was involved more in formation and then we had to make a map of where some bush fires have started or have already finished.

inquiry/T Chart/Padlet/ Compare & Contrast

LI: Identify actions and factors that can prevent a team from working co-operatively

LI:Identify characteristics of being a good citizen

LI:Identify characteristics of having a healthy/non healthy relationship

Today for inquiry me and my group learnt our relationships and how they can change. So first we made a padlet that has information about how we could have relationships and how they could change.  And then we had to do a compare and contrast we had to compare a sports team and a learning group we had to write down what a sports team does and we had to also write what a learning groups does together and in the middle we had to write what they both have in common  like they both work as a team.

After that we had to make a T chart that has 10 good things to do when you are in a team and we had to do 10 bad things that you should not do in a team we all had to come up with ideas and we then had to list the best for the 10 good things that you should do in a group we had to put the best one that we thought was going to be most helpful when in a group.

Maths poster

LI: to learn things in math that connect with the number 16.

This week for maths we were put into groups and we had to a number it was 16 and we had to write down things that relate the number 16 on a piece of paper. We could write things like times tables that equal to 16 or have the number 16 in the equation or pluses and take away that have the answer 16 or have it in the equation once we did that we then could a make a digital poster that had the same things like equations or an amount of things, place value house, or maybe the Maori version of that number.

Ki o rahi Kiwi Sport

LI: to learn the field of ki o rahi.
Today for kiwi sport we had to learn the field of the game ki o rahi. That means we have to learn were all the places were so that we could play the game.

  • Tupu - the rock
  • Te Ara - the ice bridge
  • Pawero - the island
  • Te Roto - the mote/lake
  • Te Ao - the teeth

when we learnt about the different places on the field. We then had to listen to the kiwi sport leader so if she said Tupu then we have to got to the Tupu. That is on the field and we had to do the same if she said Te Ao, Te Roto, Pawero, and Te ara and then we played ki o Rahi we go into to teams and then we had to try and make the other team stop by throwing the ball to the Tupu and then we swapped over for who was running and trowing .

Music shotgun / one call away

LI: to practice playing chords
This week for music we learnt how to play c f g a chords, so that we could learn the two different songs, Shotgun and one call away. There were three instrument that we could play on. They were piano, xylophone, and mini xylophone. I was on xylophone. I practiced the four different chords and then we played shotgun.

After that we played one call away on each instrument and so that we could practice the different chords. and so that we know how to play on the instruments.
