Making connection to problem solving

LI: To explore problem solving

Today we learnt about tangrams, how to problem solve and follow and listen to simple instruction in order to make our tangrams. Since we lost our internet connection we learnt about problem solving and following simple instructions. Tangrams are an ancient Chinese puzzle that was created around the 18th century and could be used to create different animals with the puzzle pieces and where made with thick pieces of wood instead of paper. The first step was to fold and cut the A4 paper into the pieces we need with our pair of scissors. This type of puzzle is a disective puzzle a puzzle that is cut up into different pieces, it is also a paradox meaning it doesn't make scene or doesn't work. We worked collaboratively with LS1 to create a tangram. This puzzle contained lots of different shapes that can be put together and would have different results. We used tangrams to problem solve by creating the different animals. We also learnt that we do problem solving everyday when we don't even know about it. it could be at the supermarket, Home, and School.
