Keyboarding

For daily 6 we have to do 6 task they are: Basic facts, keyboarding, pixel art, hand writing, basic fact plus and minus and SSR selfie. The one that i am doing is keyboarding. This is a very good way to learn how to write properly. This is also a good way to use all of your fingers to type

Prototec


Today i played prototec it is a game were there are different levels and i did Stage four and did three different Strategy they were Grouping with 10s grouping with in 10s and Doubles/halves to 20.

  If you finish all the equations on the sheet then there will be a button that says mark and it will cheek all of our answers to see if they were write or wrong and then and the end it will come up with your Certificate that explains how good you did and i got 60% on stage for and it also took me 15 minutes and 5s

Wall Constructions

Today for Inquiry we had to make plans of how to build walls so that they will stay strong when we build them and we used sand, stone, and toothpicks and my group built a rammed earth wall and we also made a castle wall that used stone and sand.

and the walls that  we mad e have to be 10 Cm high and 5 Cm thick and we had to make them as strong as we can so that they will not get destroyed by Mr Wong's catapult. 

Commenting

Today i commented on Chris blog post about Odysseus the Great Warrior he talked about what he was like in his video and in his blurb and he also had a partner to make the video with his name is Andrew.

I wrote a comment with a greeting like hi hello and a compliment such as I really like your work, your blog post looks really interesting. We also had to make a connections with the authors blog post like I have learnt and done this kind of work before, this blurb has taught me a lot about what you have been learning.

We also had to write a helpful comment such as I think that  you should write in paragraphs, I think that you should give a more descriptive blurb. That will also help the reader to understand the blog post and at the end we could write an encouraging sentence that will encourage the author to write more blog posts.

TEMPS

LI: to write a procedure about the topic that we chose.
today for writing we had to make a procedure about CPR we had to have TEMPS that stands for title end result materials list and pictures and steps and we had to make one by using temps and we had to add images so that they will be easier to read with the image and sentence. 

Kiwi Sport last week for swimming

Today for we had to play a game we had to throw toys into the pool and we had to do dolphin dive and we had to collect all the toys in the water and then we had to practice swimming on your backs and doing our side stroke.

and we also learnt how to pencil dive but first we had to wear a life jacket and we had to hold our nose and block our mouth and then we just had to walk on the water and then we fall and then we had to come back up and the we practice floating on our back and our tummy's and we had to also learn how to swim one our backs and tummy and the fastest way of swimming is on our backs.

Maths Division

LI: to make an animation that explains how to use division and what the meaning of it.
Today for maths we learnt how to use division and we had to make an animation that explains how to use division and we also had to explain what the meaning is of division and we also had to give simple examples of how to use division.  

Kiwi Can FUN WEEK!!

Today for kiwi for we had an energizer the game was called tangled the aim of the game is that there is on tagger and if you get tagged then you have to hold the persons hand that tagged you the people in the middle of the huge line could not tag anyone only the people who were on the sides of the line could tag people.


After that we all sat down and had a rest from all that running and then when we all felt calmed and cooled down our Kiwi Can leaders Miss. Lily and Mr. Matt the told us the name of your new activity it was called invisible Touch/Rugby we had to get into two teams and we had to get into lines opposite sides of the court and when Miss. Lily called out a random number then that is the amount of people who go on  the court. 


Cyber-Smart (Commenting)

LI: to write a quality comment.

Today for Cyber-Smart we learnt how to write a comment with a greeting like hi hello and a compliment such as I really like your work, your blog post looks really interesting. Reading Notes Pythagoras, Momus, Dolos


today for reading we had to listen to our teacher tell us this story and then we had to fill in the different slides we had to make a prediction about what we think the story is gonna be about and we had to write different questions about the story and then we had to make connections about the story another book and to the world and then we had to visualize what we think the main characters look like and we also had to infer meaning writing some info about the main characters personalities and what they are like in the story and then we had to make a summary of key words that we heard from the story.

Our Very first technology that we had to research was hillforts. hillforts are a big hill or mountain they were used to see if there enemies were coming and so that they can be prepared for when they come. And it will give to people on  the hill fort an advantage because it will slow the people who climb up the mountain.

YMCA Swimming

Today for swimming we all went i to the pool and then we did some basic swimming and then we had to use our googles so that we can do dolphin dive that means we have to collect different items on the bottom of the floor of the pool.

and then we had to go under the water and we had to go trew the hoop and then the hoop got deeper until it touched the bottom floor of the pool it was really hard to breath under the water and then we had to float on our backs and we had to remember how to scull and we had to also swim and we had to turn on our backs and back on to our tummy's and then it was time for us to go back to PBS.

Today for reading we learnt how to retell a myth to a different reading group and we had to tell one person from a different reading group the myth that we are learning about and they had to tell the myth that they were also learning about as well .

and then we had to draw pictures of what we visualized from the myth that our partners told us and then we had to do the same thing but they have to draw the pictures.

today for maths we had to make a video that explains what multiplication means and how to use it and we also had to give examples of what it is and different ways of how to use it and we also had to take a screen shot of our basic facts boxes he had to take a photo of your times tales boxes and then we can blog and explain what we did and learnt from maths and times tables.

Defensive Structures

LI:to build a Defensive Structures

Today Mr. Ching from the Defensive air force he cam into our class and taught us what he does and and where he does it and then he taught us different layers of defense the first one was camouflage and then the nest one is thermal scoped weapons the have a scope on a gun and the detected things by body heat.

and then we had to make a building out of 8 straws and 1 piece of paper and we had to get into a group go 5 and we had to work as a team to build this base our plan of building this base was to use the straws as a foundation and the we used the paper on top of the straws as a dome.     







Kiwi Can Perseverance

LI: to learn how to be perseverance with a team and others.

Michel Mulipola

Michel is Samoan a artist he draws pictures for school journals and he also is a pro wrestler and he is also a semi pro gamer at tee ken and he is also a artist for comic books and he also is a creative artist and he has his own costume for wrestling and he was also a heavy weight champion and he also draws pictures for Samoan legends and many others.    

Procedural Language


LI: to identify the suture language features of procedural.
Today for writing we learnt how to write specific sentences by using procedural language. we had to make three different poster about a recipe, directions, and building we had to take a image of the title from a site that as a recipe and then we had to write a small description that is explaining why that is the title and then we had to take a screen shot of the ingredients you have to use and the steps or methods to make what ever you are baking.

YMCA

LI: to learn how to pencil dive 
Today we learnt how to pencil dive but first we had to wear a life jacket and we had to hold our nose and block our mouth and then we just had to walk on the water and then we fall and then we had to come back up and the we practice floating on our back and our tummy's and we had to also learn how to swim one our backs and tummy and the fastest way of swimming is on our backs.

Today we had to make a list of things that we can use to break castle walls we then had to choose one so that we could make a google slide presentation about what we choose to talk about we choose Bombards they were often used to break castle walls.

A bombard is a type of big cannon and u need gunpowder to use a bombard it is a big type of cannon and the first bombard was used and made by King James II.

procedural language writing

LI: to learn how to use procedural language.

Today for writing we learnt  how to use procedural language that means writing steps or instructions we had to make a poster of what verbs and procedural language we had to explain by making a poster we also had to give some examples of what procedural language means and verbs.

What Procedural language mean: Procedural Language is a type of writing. Procedural language is doing something step by step to complete something or get somewhere.
When you write steps or instruction or rules that means the sentences are probably going to be simple sentences
Sometimes when we use Procedural Language we could combine that with verbs so that your simple sentences can be more specific  


What verbs mean: Verbs they are action or doing words that means it is something you can do with your body.

List of verbs - Kick, Jump, Sit, Walk, Run, and Throw.

And some verbs might use your brain Like - Think, Memorise, Remember, Ideas.

And some might use most of your other body parts like your hands, feet, arms, fist.

   

Kiwi Can

LI: to learn how to be perseverance.

Today for Kiwi Can we learnt how be perseverance. first we had a energizer it was called add on master the point of this game is to make as many numbers with your fingers and you had to make sure that when you play it you have a partner to play it with and once you and your buddy have made up different numbers then you have to add them all up to make one hole number and if you say it first than you win that round.

When we finished playing add on master we then all had to sit on the mat and we had to talk about what  perseverance it mean being patience and not giving up or keep trying and trying. and then Mr. Matt said if it was hard or frustrating for us to play add on master and then we had to think of some ways of how to keep us calm and not frustrating some of the answers we got were Listing to music, sleeping, reading a book, eating,going on calm walks by yourself.

Then we had an Activity it was called card towers the aim of this game is to get into a group and we have to use a deck of cards to built the best card tower and we had 3 minutes to built the tower and we can not get frustrated if the tower falls down.

Today for maths we had to learn our basic facts so that we remember them we had to to the addition and subtraction and we had to do all of them on this google sheet and i did six rows of basic facts.

Reading

LI: to retell and record our myth or legend
Today for reading we had to read this legend we had to read the story and so that we know what it means and so that we can understand the Myth and when we finished that we had to go and make a google slide that as pictures of the story and when we finished making the google slide we had to make i recording of us reading the story and with our google slide and then we could blog about it.

The Myth: Te Rā is lonely. Everyday Te Rā travels all alone across the sky at night his Brother and sisters Te Marma & Ngā Whetu traveled across the sky. Singing, Laughing, And sharing stories. Sometimes Te Marama would visit Te Rā  in the day time.  

Every time Te Marama left Te Rā he would Sigh sadly and he asked if Te Marama if she could stay she replied i have to go and look after our brother Ngā Whetu  and Te Rā Asked if they both could come and visit him but Te Marama said no your light is to strong for Ngā whetu he will just fade away

Then Te Rā went and asked Hine-Takurua the daughter of the Winter she told Te Rā some of here Tales of the sea and some jokes. Te Rā had to think of witch one he should marie he thought of it for a long time
And then when he finally made up is mind he asked both of the daughters
When he asked both of them they both agreed on it. And when Te Rā visit them the days become shorter and is called the solstice.

Kiwi Can

LI: problem solving.
Today for kiwi can it was our last week for problem solving so when we got into kiwi can we had to sit down and talk about what we learnt last week and then we went into our energizer the aim of this game is to try and get past hall the hoops and into team number two hoop and each team had to try and get into the other teams hoop and if we meet the other team member then we had to play rock,paper,scissors and the loser has to get to the back of the line.


and then we played matt doge ball we all got numbered one to four and we had to to make a big circle and we had to remember our number so that when he calls all of the people who were number one they have to go in the middle and we had to roll the ball and if the people in the circle touch the ball they are out of the game.

Writing Narrative Smiley the Clown

LI: to Write a narrative with pictures that also tell the story.

Today for writing we learnt how to write a Narrative and revising our stories that means add more to it so that it can be better or so that it can make sense and we had to make sure all of it made scene so that it can be good when we show our teacher.

When we finished the revising part  we could move on to editing that means we have to fix little or big things that are in our story and so that tho story could make sense and that we would be able to understand our own stories.

In each different writing group we had to write about a different thing and in my group we had to write about a clown who lived on a mountain.



My Story: One calm morning there was a young man who was called Smiley and he dressed up like a clown. He told funny jokes to all his friends. Smiley lived on a mountain and he always discovers new things every time he goes hiking. Smiley doesn't dress up as a clown all of the time. Every time he sees his friends he always makes them laugh with a big smile. Because he lived in a cozy house on a mountain it's sometimes really cold.

When Smiley’s had a hard day he drives down the mountain and once he’s at the bottom he puts on a performance to make family, friends and others laugh. Every time he puts on a show he always wears his rainbow jumpsuit and he wears bright, colorful, face paint and his hair is red and really curly. His hardest magic trick was to ride a unicycle and to do a magic card trick. And then when the performance is all over he usually goes and drives back up to the mountain and has a rest before he has dinner.

When he has dinner he eats the plants that grow next to his house such as Golden currant, Mountain sorrel and pine needles. It's really quiet where he lives so Smiley puts on some music when he’s eating dinner. Sometimes when he was nothing to do he goes hiking to a find a peak were he can stand on and feel the fresh air going past his face. Sometimes Smiley can be clumsy and also really funny sometimes.

And one time when Smiley was a kid he had a balloon, it was his favorite color which was blue once he saw a group of kids playing together and Smiley went over to them. He wanted to show his balloon to everyone. When he showed them his balloon two twin brothers were jealous of it. Then when all the kids left, the two twin brothers went up to Smiley and stole the balloon and after that the twins found a good hiding spot where they could play with the ballon. When they saw Smiley they both hid the balloon in a tree. As it started to get dark Smiley went to them to fight them for his ballon. Smiley got his balloon off of the two twins and after Smiley found it, he started to live on the mountain and that's why Smiley built a house on the mountain.

Castles Inquiry


LI: to make and share our presentations abut Castles.

Today we had to chooses to if we wanted to make a slide Presentation about Bow and arrows or castles and our group choose castles castled were mostly used in the 5th century  

About Castles: Castles are big and strong.They were used for a king.A castle is made for people to be safe.They made castles so enemies can’t get into the castle and can’t hurt anybody..They made castles high so the enemies can’t get up into the castle.The made it for battle.Castles can be made by different materials like wood.


Castles in the medieval period were home to a lord or king who lived in it the medieval period was also known has to middles period ages. Lasted the 5th century CE to the end of the 15th century during that time many castles were built in Europe and the middle east. They ranged from simple wooden structures to big stone castles.  



YMCA Swimming

LI: To learn how to rescue someone.
Today we learnt how to rescue someone we had to find a partner and then once we found a partner we got a pool noodle.

and then once they told us what to do with it we had to lie on our stomachs and we had to pull in our partner that is in the pool and then we had to pull them in with the pool noddle and once we pulled them in. and then we had to get into the pool  and we had to try and penetrated that we are setting on a chair and we had to make circles with our legs and then we had to put one hand up and say the word help as loud as we can.

Tongan language Week (Body Parts/ Koe ‘u hingoa ‘oe tau sino kotoa)


LI: to make a DLO help people embrace the Tongan culture.

Today was Tongan Language Week and we were collaborating with another class and we all had to work together to help both of the different class and we all got into groups and we all had to choose a girl or boy to make.

When we choose witch one we are going to do then we have to use an image that our teacher showed us and then we had to trace the outline and make it different and if we needed any help and any point then we could get some help from Jack Or Sanujan and they would both help us and give us some advice to make our characters better and we could also use poly line scribble line and different shapes to add detail or make it look better and traced around the image and i made some changes to it so that my character does not look the same as the image and then when i had finished that i could move on the the next step to our Tongan language Week project.

When i finished my Girl Character i had a choice of making a DLO about the days of the week in Tongan or making a DLO about the different Body parts or make a DLO about counting up to ten in Tongan. I choose to make a DLO about our body parts i just had to find out how to write them in Tongan first and then i could blog about it.






















Maths Making 10s

LI: to make 10 and using finger strategy.

Today this week we learnt how to make 10 and use our number bonds and use that finger strategy as well first we had to to all of the equations on our maths book the first equation was 6 + 7 and we had to use our number bonds to 10 and we had to split the 7 in halve a so that we can have two different numbers 4 and, 3 and we had to combine the 6 and 4 so that we can make 10 and then once we did that we had to combine the 10 and the number 3 that was left over from the 7 and then when we plus 10 10 and 3 we get 13.

We also had to do the same thing but we had to to it digitally and all the equations that were highlighted yellow we had to also do it in our books but the ones that wernt  then we had to answer them by using the making 10 strategy or  using our fingers srategy.

Reading Myth of Fin McCool

LI: to learn how to retell and visualize the myth of Fin McCool.

This weeks reading must do we learnt about the myth of Fin McCool and we had to visualize what we heard from the story and we had to write everything that we visualized from the story and in every box we had 5 minutes to write about the myth in each box and once we were finished we had to use this piece of paper and we had to draw what we heard from the story.

The myth of Fin McCool:  Fin McCool is a huge giant that lives in Ireland he is that biggest giant of Ireland and because Fin McCool lives in the side of the a big hill


When Fin McCool is in his house he sees this really small figure in the distance and it is benadona a really big giant and they started to talk about each other and they started to talk abuse to each other

Fin McCool was so fed up with benadon he wanted to go over to him but he needs to find a way to get over there and then finally he thinks of a way his plan is to throw big giant rocks over in to the sea so that he can use them as stepping stones

Fin McCool walks on the stepping stones and he is prepared for a fight and then Fin McCool tries to find out were benadona is and but he only finds his house and benadona has a much bigger house than Fin McCool and then Fin McCool goes back to his house before benadona comes and then when bena dona comes he is in rage because he knows that someone was here  

Fin McCool comes back home and he tells his wife all about it and Fin was Scared and then Fins wife said i have a plan so Fin McCools wife dresses up like a baby and then when benadona comes along he comes and knocks on that door  and then when benadona gets inside Fins wife gives him some bread with rocks and then as benadona eats it his teeth starts to shatter and then benadona is really scared

Benadona runs of really scared  and he smashes all the stepping stones so that Fin McCool can not get over to him
