Gymnastics

LI: to develop body movement of balance, rotation, and strength.

the stretches that we did are:

  1. L shape
  2. seal
  3. butterfly
  4. cat
  5. strowble
  6. side support
We did three rotations that had different equipment and activity's.

Rotation 1
The first thing we did on rotation 1 was when we had to do a forwards role on the bench and then stand up and next thing was where we did a small or big cart wheel over the box. the third thing is the bean where we have to walk back ward and keep our balance the coach said when you are walking back wards look at your feet and use your feet to tell when you are nearly at the end of the beam.

Rotation 2 
The first thing we did in rotation 2 was where we did a back wards role we had to have your hands behind your neck and look at your stomach and also keep your knees close to our body so we could role down. the next thing that was in the rotation was where we had to a scorpion hand stand that is when we try and use one leg and try to raise it as high as we can. next up was the spring board where we ran and try to jump as high as we can and then do a half turn when we land. the last thing in that rotation is where we ran and we jumped on a trampoline and we landed on our feet but in a star fish shape.

Rotation 3
on the last rotation we did a hand stand with your feet against the wall and we had to raise one of our legs as high as possible. next up was bench we had to put our legs on a box and we had to hold ourself up by using our hands and we had to rotate as well. 

Reading

LI: To build Vocabulary and expression.

We had to make video acting like our character and we also had to explain what your play is about our play is about three astronauts and the go to mars and they meet a martian and the martian wants to get rid of them from mars.

LI: To understand what is needed for space travel.

In my group we made straw rockets and we had to make three of them and we had to only change one thing like the amount of fins my group changed the amount of fins on the roket on one roket there are 1 fin and on the other rockets there are 4 and 2 fins. and we had to test how far these rockets go.

Maths/Number line/Place value/

LI: to solve addition questions and attempt subtraction using place value on a number line.

A number line is a line that can help you solve equations. And today we had to use the number line to solve the ,ath equation by moving around the different pieces on the poster and when we do that it will give us the answer. After that we did another maths activity it was were we had to fill in the numbers of the blank space.





Informal & Formal Language

LI: to use appropriate register for communicating online.

Informal language is more of a casual speech. Formal language is when you speak with manners. We did a activity we had to write informal and formal speech and we had to make a poster about it we had to write informal speech of how we would ask a question and also do that for formal language.

Star dome/ Observatory/ Space/ School Trip

On our school trip we went to star dome. And on our trip we meet john he showed us around the star dome and he told us about how far all of the planets are and what rocky midgets and gas giants are. We then did a quiz we were all divided into groups of 5 and we had different team names my team name was team mars. there were a lot of questions we had to answer and in the end we only got one question wrong.

After that we went into the observatory and we learnt even  more we learnt about some weird weathers that they have on some planets like on neptune it rains diamonds and on jupiter there are dust devils.

Responsibility/Kiwi Can/Integrity

LI: to do things without being asked to do it.

Topic - Responsibility
Catch phrase - Responsible is what I am, That's the way of Kiwi Can


Objective - to make sure that your team does not lose balance of the ball.

Activity -

In today's activity we had to try and balance the ball on the some skipping ropes. Each person in the group had to hold a part of the rope to try and hold the ball up, While doing that we could do tasks like e1: touch to window while holding the ball up. e2: hop on one foot.

Today for inquiry we where learning about newtons third law and about the different forces and we had to make a slide that talks about the different types of forces and also explains what newtons third law is about.

Today for Cyber-Smart we were learning about how to write smart blog comments. to write a good blog comment you should have a greeting and next you should say something about there blog post that they can to better and next you should have a question like how did they learn what they are learning about and then give them some encouragement like good job, keep op the great work.

Today for reading we were learning about Cause and Effect the cause is the thing that is happening and the effect is what will happen after. and me and my group had to make cause and effects about how LS1 works and how our class works  so what we needed to do was a slide and have cause and effects about how our class works and we also had to  put in casual language those are words that connect the cause and effect to make it a simple sentence.

Kiwi Can/Integrity/Honesty

LI: to use integrity and honesty.
Staying honest is not always easy, but telling the the truth or help a friend to tell the truth must be done. We did a drama activity to show peoples emotion indifferent situations like when a lie is told or when or when a friend tells you  a secret.

Maori/Patupaiarehe/fairy people

LI: To learn about Patupaiarehe faires and geography of aoteroa
Patupaiarehe are faries that live in forests. and have magic powers like super strength and curse people. the Patupaiarehe  we learnt about today live on mountains. we learnt about myths and legends by listing to the story of ihenga and searching for information,and using google maps.

Today for reading we did a new play the play was called Mayhem on mars. and we had to do the same thing as last week we had to choose 6 new words that we didn't know of and we needed to define three of the words and also write what the play was about in 25 words or less. and then we had to write our lines and we had to write who we are interacting with in the play and what expression or emotion and we also had to write what this character is trying to achieve and also what i need to do to portrait my character.

Today I was doing SSR selfie and I read a book called Smile. and I had to retell the story that I have been reading it is about a girl who wears braces has a race with her friend and falls during the race and her two top front teeth have been pushed up and she is then really nervous of what happened during the race

Today for reading I Made a video on flip grid about my groups play. the play is called are you bored yet. And I did a summary about my play I found 6 interesting or new words and defined three of them and then I made a video explaining very thing about that.

Inquiry/What life is like on space/ space/

LI: to understand what is need for space travel.

Today for inquiry we made a poster that answers these questions. what is life like in space, what space would feel like, what do you think space travel will look like in the future, and how can we get to space. And we watched a video of a man going to space and you it was really hard for him to walk again because is muscles shrank because he was not using them for 6 months. and because it was hard to walk for him it took him a while to walk again.

Today for maths we were learning to round numbers the the nearest thousand using place value. I made a video of how to round to the nearest 1000 using place value and i learnt lots of new things and it was very interesting. and this video explains how to round numbers.

Today for writing we learnt about what is an explanation. We had to make two posters one of them was to explain what explanation, information report, and procedure. And the last poster was about us talking about Past tense, passive voice, third person , and time connectives are.

Patupairehe and the mountains

LI: to learn the geography of Aotearoa.
LI: To identify what Patupairehe are.

Mount Maunganui is a Mountain in Tauranga. the Hunua and Waitakere ranges are mountains in Auckland, Patupairehe  are fairies that lived on these mountains in the Maori myth. I learned about the  Patupairehe and the mountains by listing to  two stories, the Legend of maumoo and the turehu wars. I learned where the mountains are by looking on google maps .

In our activity we were in groups and each group was given a situation and what ever it was we had to act it out with our group.

Our groups  situation was wallet we had to make a skit about two friends and one friend drops there wallet. and a stranger then pick it up and hands it into the police station and the two friends go to the bakery to buy some food but they cant because she drooped her wallet and she cant find it.  and then the police officer then goes and gives the wallet to the rightful owner. In each group they had a different  situation and we all talked about what was the stranger being honest about and we also discussed why she gave it to the police station and why she didn't keep the wallet to herself.

Today we were trying to tell the difference between a simple compound and complex and we were recapping what we learnt last term about simple compound and complex sentences.

Number Patterns & Place Value

For Maths I learnt about number patterns and how you can solve them and also about place value. First we learnt about Place Value and we learnt about the three columns 100, 10, 1. and we learnt about number patterns for example we had to look at all the numbers and we had to find out what number was changing and also what number comes next .

I learnt new words and i learnt how to build expression. Me and My group are doing a play and it is about six school kids who are very board and my group all have scripts and all have characters that we must act like.

We did a summary for the play so first we have to choose interesting words that we don't know what they mean and we had to find the definitions of three of the words that we he found. and then we had to write one of our lines and we had to write what expression or emotion that we have to say the lines in.

Moari Legend

The legend that we learnt with miss Whaea Odie was the legend of Mt Maunganui. It tells us about were the Mountain go dragged to its current location. Miss Whaea Odie read the story about the legend and how to moved to a different location and how it got stuck there.

Whaea Odie read us the story of Mt Maunganui we used google maps to find the places in the legend. and we used google documents to remind us of the Moari words.

Two Steves


LS1 has made an ad for the first Apple computer.
we had to work with our partner to make this ad and on the ad we had to write things that could be sold to people who do not have a computer or who have not used one before.








Me and my partner had to find the correct definitions of these words. And what we think the word means. the words that we looked at were electronic, engineer, fascinate, gadget, industry. and we to look up the correct definitions and also write what we think the word means. 

We made a compare and contrast about the first Apple computer and we compared it the the modern day computers that we use now. And we also wrote what the computer have in common like they both have screens and keyboards.
